About the company

Sphereo is a software design company that specializes in creating spherical audio experiences. Sphereo’s technology can transform 3D vector sound into two audio channels (stereo) that the brain interprets as natural spherical sound. The technology can be used on any audio, whether prerecorded or in real-time, and allows the distributor complete control over how the audio location and motion patterns are experienced. Sphereo has registered patents worldwide for its innovative solution.

The Challenge: CONNECTING A STARTUP WITH GLOBAL CORPORATIONS

Sphereo began as a small startup with big dreams. Sphereo’s technology was perfect for large media corporations looking to take their viewers’ experience to the next level. Still, to a small startup, gaining access to significant players in the entertainment industry presents a formidable challenge. Identifying potential buyers, finding contacts in those companies, and scheduling meetings is often too much to expect from small startups, particularly when their target market includes enormous businesses.

Despite not having any direct competition, Sphereo was unsure how to begin reaching out to these companies and presenting their technology. Sound plays an integral part in the way users experience media. Sphereo knew that their technology could contribute to the viewing experience and allow streaming companies to compete with theaters and other venues that offer a surround sound experience.

All these advantages and the general knowledge of their potential customer base were not enough to get Sphereo the meetings they needed to finalize a sale. In-depth research to identify which of these companies were viable potential buyers, who the decision-makers in those companies were and the expertise to build a rapport and gain access to these decision-makers was what Sphereo needed.
